Cultural Policy Pathways

Re-thinking Cultural Policies

In the cultural field, there are moments when we need to pause, reflect, and imagine new directions. Call to Action was born precisely for this: to propose a deep and plural reflection on how to (re)think cultural policies, starting from the concrete experience lived between 2020 and 2024.

Curated by Giuliana Ciancio, in collaboration with Cristina Carlini and Eleonora De Caroli, the book is the result of Liv.in.g’s work and vision, bringing together contributions from professionals across Europe and the Global South. Its goal? To share insights, strategies, examples, and tools with those working in the sector who are seeking structural, transformative, and inclusive change.

Three sections, a visual timeline, focus groups, and voices from the field: Call to Action is intended for those navigating institutions, networks, and cultural practices who are looking for guidance in an ever-evolving landscape.

👉 It addresses social and climate justice, cultural labour and mobility, collective narratives, and new policies capable of moving beyond outdated logics. All this with a language that is both accessible and rigorous, aimed at cultural workers, researchers, institutions, and engaged citizens.

A dual edition designed to expand accessibility and foster international dialogue.

If you believe that culture can be a political, collective, and transformative tool, Call to Action might be your next point of departure.
