NAN VAN HOUTE – Liv.In.G. Live Internationalization Gateway

Nan van Houte had a career in contemporary performing arts, with a focus on artists’ rights and the social impact of the arts. With a scientific degree in theatre, language and philosophy, she figured in many off-stage positions in the field. During, after and before her 15 years tenure as the director of Theatre Frascati, curating 6 black boxes in the center of Amsterdam, she has been active as producer, dramaturge, tutor, curator, journalist and policy advisor in the Netherlands and abroad (a.o. in post-genocide countries). Her international experience informed her position as Secretary General of IETM, the largest EU funded international network for the arts, which she held for six years till mid 2018. Currently she is member of the Board of Directors of Dancing on the Edge (artistic exchange with Middle East and North Africa), Theater voor KetiKoti (commemoration of colonial history and the abolition of Dutch slavery) and active as an editor, mentor and lecturer in different contexts.
